Report: Hammaker Secures First Win at Daytona, Closes in on Championship Lead

Daytona Beach, FL – In a compelling display of skill and determination, Pennsylvania native Hammaker clinched his first victory at the Daytona International Speedway during the second 250SX East race of the 2026 season, finishing a commanding wire-to-wire lead. The win places him just two points behind championship leader Pierce Brown.

“Winning here is definitely important,” Hammaker remarked, reflecting on the significance of his performance after a fourth-place finish in the previous round. “It felt good to get off to a strong start this week after working on areas I needed to improve.”

Hammaker’s strong holeshot was pivotal, allowing him to avoid the chaos typically seen in the opening laps. “A good start was crucial, especially with the challenging gate conditions,” he said. “I executed perfectly and got into the first corner cleanly, which really helped me ride my lines without interference.”

Looking ahead, Hammaker expressed confidence in his ability to replicate this success in the upcoming 250SX East Division Triple Crown event. “It’s all about positioning from qualifying for good gate picks. With three races counting, getting holeshots will be even more important,” he stated.

Hammaker’s track record includes a notable victory at the 2025 Indianapolis SX, the first East/West showdown last season, which followed a podium finish in Daytona. As the series progresses, fans and analysts alike will be watching closely to see if Hammaker can maintain his momentum and challenge for the championship title.
