Hammaker Prepares for Championship Bid in 250SX East Division

As the 2026 Supercross season approaches, Cameron Hammaker is laser-focused on refining his technique and optimizing his performance aboard the new Kawasaki KX250. Training in Florida, the seasoned rider has honed his skills, targeting crucial aspects such as body positioning, footwork, and maintaining a neutral stance on the bike, particularly in technical sections like whoops.

“Being smooth and logging consistent laps at an 80-percent pace is key,” Hammaker stated. “This allows for a burst of speed when needed during a race.”

The improvements on the 2026 KX250 highlight Hammaker’s serious preparation. He praised the ongoing collaboration with Mitch Payton and the technical team, noting enhancements in engine performance that focus on increased torque and rider comfort. “Mitch has been crushing it on the new engine package,” Hammaker said. “Our bikes are always top-notch, and I’m excited to be in front this season.”

Reflecting on his relationship with the team, Hammaker expressed gratitude for the support he has received, especially during challenging times. “Mitch is loyal as long as you stay focused. He has always stood by me, and I’m ready to showcase my capabilities.” Hammaker aims for a championship win, targeting consistency and top-five finishes in every round.

“Going for the championship is the goal,” he emphasized. “I want good starts and to avoid trouble. I believe I can do it with the tools and support I have.”

With the season’s kickoff at AT&T Stadium in Texas, Hammaker looks forward to competing in the East Division, where he feels more at home. “I prefer the dirt and the stadium layout. Having friends and family at the races is a bonus,” he added, setting the stage for what looks to be a promising season.
