Ty Masterpool’s Supercross Season Cut Short by Injury

Titusville, FL – Ty Masterpool’s 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season has officially concluded due to a severe shoulder injury. The 450SX competitor, who recently finished 18th at the Seattle SX, will miss the remainder of the season following a shoulder dislocation sustained during training leading up to the Arlington SX.

Gizmo Racing Yamaha announced that Masterpool will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum confirmed through medical evaluation. The team emphasized their commitment to supporting Masterpool through his recovery and rehabilitation process.

In a detailed update, Gizmo Racing Yamaha team manager Bobby Fisher provided insights into the incident. “It was a bummer deal. During his final practice session, Ty experienced a dislocation while navigating the whoop section but managed to maintain control of the motorcycle,” Fisher explained. “After initial treatment, we were optimistic he could race in Texas, but subsequent MRI results revealed the extent of the injury.”

Fisher noted that while Masterpool’s return for the AMA Pro Motocross Championship remains uncertain, the team hopes for a swift recovery. As per the release, Masterpool plans to attend select events to engage with fans and show support for his team and fellow riders.

In summary, Masterpool’s promising season has taken an unfortunate turn, highlighting the inherent risks of competitive motorsport. The racing community anticipates his return following surgery and rehabilitation.
