6DAYS Update: Steede and U.S. Team Hold Strong Lead Amidst Challenges

In the ongoing 6DAYS competition, the United States team, led by Korie Steede, has successfully maintained its lead in the Women’s World Trophy, despite fluctuating performance across the first three days of the event.

After an impressive Day 1 that established a nearly seven-minute gap over second-placed France, the challenging conditions of Day 2, characterized by extreme Italian heat and a series of mishaps, saw Steede drop to third. However, the team still managed to extend its overall advantage as they entered the third day.

Day 3 proved to be a test for the U.S. squad, with Steede finishing in eighth position. Despite this setback, the team’s cumulative performance has allowed them to build a lead of over 20 minutes heading into the halfway point of the competition.

Reflecting on her experiences, Steede stated, “I was leading most of Day 1…then there was just one more creek crossing…and I had committed to a line that I thought was good, but it wasn’t. I lost a lot of time…Day 2 was really hot…I hit the ground a few times…but the team crushed it! Day 3 was also a bit of a tough one, although overall we’re in a really good position at the halfway point, and we’ll keep charging to the end.”

Current standings after Day 3:

  1. USA: 5:57:29.65
  2. France: +20:08.37
  3. Australia: +21:17.86
  4. Italy: +32:54.78
  5. Great Britain: +44:10.12

The U.S. team remains focused as they prepare for the next stages of the 6DAYS, determined to bring home the title.
