Sacramento, CA – The opening round of the 2010 AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Hangtown delivered unexpected twists, highlighted by Chad Reed’s historic victory with Monster Energy Kawasaki and Mike Alessi’s milestone win aboard a 350cc bike.

Chad Reed clinched his first and only win for Monster Energy Kawasaki, showcasing his ability to capitalize on the season’s early momentum. Alessi, racing on a KTM 350, secured a remarkable moto victory, marking the first win for the 350cc class in AMA competition. This achievement underscores the growing competitiveness of 350cc motorcycles in a field dominated by 450s.

In a surprising turn, Ryan Dungey, the 2010 450 Pro Motocross Champion, faced challenges during the event. Despite high expectations, Dungey struggled to maintain pace, finishing outside the podium spots, which raised questions about his early-season form.

Dunlop introduced the Geomax MX34 tire, engineered for soft-to-intermediate terrains and developed in collaboration with elite motocross professionals. This new tire is positioned to set a benchmark in the industry, aiming to enhance performance on varied track conditions.
