Webb Takes Victory in Houston as Tomac Fumbles His Shot at Overall Win
In a dramatic Supercross event in Houston, Cooper Webb emerged victorious, clinching his first win of the 2026 season with an impressive 4-2-3 performance across three sprint races. This win comes despite the challenges posed by a diverse field, with three different riders securing race victories.
Ken Roczen dominated the first race, followed by Hunter Lawrence, who claimed the second. Webb’s consistent podium finishes allowed him to secure the overall victory, surpassing Eli Tomac, who faced setbacks in the form of a crash in race two—ultimately finishing with a tally of 3-13-1 and landing fourth overall.
Despite the mishap, Tomac retains his lead in the championship standings through four rounds. Post-race, Tomac reflected on his crash and recovery, highlighting the high-speed nature of the track: “That was such a high-speed on-off there… I ended up stomping on my rear brake. Thankfully, I was able to get through my bars… the limbs are good, I’m excited… glad to move on to next week.”
As the series continues, the focus will shift to next weekend’s event, where Tomac will aim to rebuild his momentum against stiff competition.
