Date: September 7, 2025
Location: West Virginia

The tenth round of the Progressive Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series, the Dunlop Buckwheat 100, unfolded under optimal racing conditions, featuring intense competition among the sport’s elite. Grant Davis secured the overall victory, while Jordan Ashburn excelled in the XC1 class, taking second overall aboard his Flatrock Motorclub GasGas.

Ashburn described the event: “We had a different format today, and it was straight-up racing. I found myself battling inside the top-three all day. I made crucial passes on the last lap to lead the XC1 class, which was awesome. I feel confident heading into The Mountaineer, where we won last year.” After switching back to a 450cc bike from a 350, Ashburn noted significant improvements in his performance.

Liam Draper delivered a commendable performance, finishing third overall and second in XC1 on his AmPro Yamaha. Draper assessed his race: “I was looking forward to this track; it felt good. I led early, but a fall around the two-lap mark affected my flow.”

Ben Kelley reflected on his day: “It’s great to come back from the break and score good points. The track was tough, and while I struggled at times, I gave it my all.”

The race featured an altered start procedure, positioning the top 20 overall points leaders from XC1 and XC2 at the front. The challenging West Virginia terrain provided a fitting backdrop for the fierce competition, emphasizing the significance of championship points as the season enters its final stages.

Results Summary:

  2. Jordan Ashburn (1st XC1)
