Yoder’s Determined Performance in Houston Supercross Triple Crown
Houston, TX – In a competitive display at the Houston Supercross Triple Crown, Hunter Yoder showcased notable resilience and determination despite facing challenges on the track. While not matching the performance of his teammate, Yoder maintained a commendable top-10 finish overall, emphasizing a marked improvement in his racing capabilities.
Yoder expressed a desire to achieve a top-five overall placement, highlighting his aspirations for growth within the sport. “We have shifted our sights on fifth. That’s what we want,” he stated post-race, underscoring his commitment to continual improvement.
The unique track layout presented both challenges and opportunities. Yoder described the course as “the triples at the Triple Crown,” referring to its demanding jumps that required precision and skill. He noted, “The berms were insane. It was like a roller coaster,” indicating the complexity of navigating the obstacles.
However, Yoder’s starts were problematic. After starting dead last in the first race, he managed to secure eighth place. He followed this with two seventh-place finishes across the subsequent heats. “I had a little tip-over in the second one, which cost me a solid sixth place, but possibly a fifth as well,” he reflected, highlighting his awareness of missed opportunities.
Despite the setbacks, Yoder emphasized his pacing and strength, particularly when competing against more experienced riders. “There were some guys on factory bikes that weren’t passing me in that last one,” he acknowledged, hinting at his rising competitiveness.
Yoder remains optimistic about his trajectory in Supercross, stating, “Last year, if I started in the back, I’d probably finish in 13th or 14th. That’s why we’re looking for top fives now; we’ve leveled up.” As he continues to refine his skills, Yoder is poised to elevate his performance in upcoming events.
