Cadillac Racing Announces Driver Lineups for 2027 IMSA Season
Cadillac Racing has unveiled its driver lineups for the forthcoming 2027 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, coinciding with the announcement from Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA regarding its drivers for the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship.
Cadillac Whelen (Action Express Racing)
Reigning GTP Champion Jack Aitken will return to the #31 Cadillac V-Series.R to defend his title. Aitken will partner with Frederik Vesti, who has moved from a part-time role to a full-time position alongside him. Earl Bamber will participate in select Michelin Endurance Cup races, including the Rolex 24 At Daytona, where the team has secured second place in two of the last three years.
“I’m thrilled to return to IMSA with Whelen Cadillac to defend our titles,” commented Aitken, emphasizing the team’s solid chemistry. Vesti added, “That’s always been part of the plan…to fight for the championship.” Bamber noted, “Looking forward to Daytona, where we’re trying to get Cadillac and Whelen their first win in the GTP era.”
An additional fourth driver for the Rolex 24 At Daytona will be named later.
Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing
Wayne Taylor Racing (WTR) will sustain its two-car program with no changes to its lineup. Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque will continue with the #10 car, while Jordan Taylor and Louis Delétraz will drive the #40 vehicle. The team achieved its first victory with the V-Series.R at Road America in 2026.
WTR owner Wayne Taylor expressed satisfaction with the continuity in his team: “Delighted to welcome Norman Nato back in the #40 cockpit… I feel confident that we have the right mix of drivers and am excited to go testing.”
2026 Season Achievements
Cadillac’s three teams collectively celebrated an impressive 2026 season, totaling three victories, 11 podiums, and four pole positions, culminating in the 2026 GTP Manufacturers’ championship.
Eric Warren, General Motors’ Vice President of Global Motorsports Competition, stated, “We are proud to carry the momentum… into 2027 with a driver lineup that combines proven IMSA experience and championship-caliber performance.”
As preparations commence for the season opener at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, Cadillac Racing aims to defend its titles and further enhance its legacy in endurance racing.
