Alex Quinn Elevated to Full Factory Driver for Team Peugeot TotalEnergies in 2027
British racer Alex Quinn has officially been promoted to a full factory driver role with Team Peugeot TotalEnergies for the 2027 FIA World Endurance Championship season. This multi-year contract follows a successful tenure as a test and development driver, during which he played a crucial role in the development of the revamped Peugeot 9X8 Hypercar.
Quinn’s ascent in motorsports has been rapid; he made his mark as a standout performer during the 2025 Bahrain Rookie Test before entering Peugeot’s development program. Recognized for his accomplishments, including being named ‘Rookie of the Year’ in both the British F4 Championship and the Formula Renault Cup, he has transitioned into endurance racing since 2023. His achievements include supporting the IMSA Endurance title win for PR1 Mathiesen in 2023, alongside multiple race victories across the European and Asian Le Mans Series as well as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The 2026 season culminated with Quinn securing the IMSA LMP2 title at Petit Le Mans, further solidifying his reputation with class wins at both the Le Mans LMP2 Pro-Am and the Rolex 24 Hours.
Quinn expressed enthusiasm about his new role, stating, “Becoming an official driver for Team Peugeot TotalEnergies is a dream come true… I feel ready for this after my recent successes.”
Emmanuel Esnault, Team Principal at Peugeot, confirmed the team’s confidence in Quinn’s abilities. “Alex’s pedigree is impressive, and we look forward to having him race with us next year at the wheel of the evolved Peugeot 9X8.”
Quinn becomes the second new factory driver announced for the 2027 season, following Robert Shwartzman’s recent signing. Anticipation builds around his upcoming race debut, with details expected to be released soon.
