Tomac Injured in Latest Crash, Preliminary Scans Clear of Fractures
In today’s session, Eli Tomac experienced a significant crash that left him with injuries to his right shoulder and hip. Reporting from the field, Jason Weigandt confirmed that Tomac has been released from the Alpinestars medical rig, with initial assessments indicating no broken bones.
Haley Shanley provided an update: “He banged his right shoulder and hip in that crash. They did tell me that the X-ray and ultrasound show that nothing is broken. For now, he’s going to rest up, and they’re going to see how he feels for the next session. They are not saying he is out as of now.”
Tomac performed strongly in the first session, securing the second-fastest time. The second session is set to begin at 10:49 a.m., and it remains to be seen if he will participate. Further updates will follow as the situation develops.
