Cadillac to Unveil F1 Livery at Miami Grand Prix
Miami, FL – Cadillac is poised to make its mark in Formula 1 this weekend, revealing its livery ahead of its official entry into the sport in 2026. The unveiling will take place at a special event on Saturday, May 3, featuring attendees from both the motorsport and entertainment spheres, including team principal Graeme Lowdon and CEO Dan Towriss.
The event, anticipated to be a highlight of the Miami Grand Prix weekend, is hosted at the Cadillac Club, designated as the "cultural centerpiece" of the race festivities. Fans are eager for insights into what the American brand has designed as it transitions from concept to reality.
Cadillac’s entry into F1 has undergone significant evolution. Initially launched under the Andretti banner with backing from General Motors, the project faced setbacks last year when Formula One Management denied its initial approval, citing concerns about the potential value it would add to the sport. Subsequent restructuring has placed Dan Towriss at the helm, with Michael Andretti shifting to an advisory role.
Andretti commented on the changes, stating, "I will be serving as an advisor for the team and will be available to help wherever I can." Under Towriss’s leadership, Cadillac was accepted as F1’s 11th team, although this came with a substantial anti-dilution fee estimated at $450 million.
With the race weekend unfolding in humid conditions, speculation abounds regarding driver selections. Former Red Bull driver Sergio Pérez and three-time IndyCar champion Alex Palou are both linked to Cadillac. While Pérez remains a strong candidate—acknowledged by Mario Andretti as “an option”—Palou appears unlikely to join, stating, “I think we’ve perhaps already passed the stage of trying to get a spot in Formula 1.”
As the anticipation builds for Cadillac’s debut, all eyes will be on the reveal and the future direction of the American team in the elite motorsport series.
