Cadillac Racing Confirms Connor Zilisch for Daytona Test
Cadillac Racing has announced that NASCAR driver Connor Zilisch will test the Cadillac V-Series.R at the IMSA Sanctioned Test from November 14-16 at Daytona International Speedway. Zilisch will pilot the No. 31 Cadillac Whelen V-Series.R, which achieved victories in the last two races of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Indianapolis and Petit Le Mans.
“Hopefully, we’ll make the most of it and see if this can lead to more opportunities,” Zilisch remarked. “Racing at the highest levels of endurance racing has always been a dream of mine.”
Zilisch narrowly missed the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship, which also affected his eligibility to participate in the FIA World Endurance Championship Rookie Test in Bahrain due to insufficient ACCUS license points. However, the Daytona outing will provide a valuable opportunity for the young driver.
In addition to Zilisch, Colton Herta, a previous Rolex 24 class winner, is set to test the No. 40 Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing V-Series.R. Herta has been confirmed as the endurance driver for the 2026 season alongside Jordan Taylor and Louis Delétraz. The No. 10 Cadillac will feature drivers Ricky Taylor, Filipe Albuquerque, and Will Stevens.
Albuquerque expressed optimism about the upcoming test, stating, “We made huge steps in 2025, and I want to keep searching for more. I want my first win back with Cadillac and to fight for the title.”
This test will mark the first public outing for the 2026-spec V-Series.R, which includes a revised aerodynamic package following the use of one of its five development “jokers.” Last year, Cadillac used its first joker to upgrade the car’s control system electronics.
The IMSA Sanctioned Test will commence with GTP and LMP2 prototypes running on the initial two days, paving the way for a competitive 2026 season.
