Ford Multimatic Motorsports Unveils New Livery for Michelin GT Challenge at VIR
Ford Multimatic Motorsports is set to debut a striking new livery for its two Mustang GT3s during the Michelin GT Challenge at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) this weekend. The GTD PRO vehicles will feature carbon fiber and fluorescent yellow designs, coinciding with the introduction of the new Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon, which was showcased at the Rolex Monterey Motorsport Reunion.
"The ultimate expression of the Mustang GTD’s high-tech, high-performance design serves as a reminder of the race-derived, cutting-edge capability that comes from the Mustang GT3 race car," stated Ford Performance in an official announcement.
In addition to the racing efforts, the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon will also be present at VIR, with customer deliveries slated for October. This event will also see additional Ford representation, as a Mustang GTD will serve as the pace car for both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Michelin Pilot Challenge races. The lineup includes three Mustang GT3s and five Mustang GT4s.
The Mustang Challenge will round out the competition at VIR, featuring 14 cars entering the races this weekend, showcasing Ford’s continued investment in grassroots motorsports.
