Report: 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship – Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen
Watkins Glen, NY – In an exhilarating conclusion to the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, Acura Meyer Shank Racing’s Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun secured their first victory of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The race, characterized by dramatic conditions and strategic driving, featured a scintillating sprint to the finish after ten full course yellows disrupted the flow.
The race commenced under overcast skies and heavy rain, but notable performance shifts occurred as the sun set. The decisive incident unfolded with ten minutes remaining, as a left-rear suspension failure from the No. 36 DXDT Racing Corvette forced another caution, closing the pit lane. This set the stage for a three-minute dash with leading GTP cars nearly out of fuel. Following strategic maneuvers, Blomqvist capitalized on Cadillac’s No. 31 Whelen V-Series.R running out of energy, clinching the win.
