2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship: Injury Update Ahead of Anaheim Round
Anaheim, CA – The third round of the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship kicks off this weekend in Anaheim, but several prominent riders will be sidelined due to injury.
Justin Barcia is the most significant absence, recovering from a serious crash at the opening round. Barcia reported via social media, “Suffering from two broken bones in my back and a concussion takes time. I can’t put a date on it yet. I’m doing everything right with Dr. G to return ASAP.”
Shane Bloss also faces an extended stint on the sidelines after breaking his wrist during a press day incident right before the first round. He is expected to be out for approximately five to six weeks.
On a more positive note, Austin Forkner, who crashed during qualifying in San Diego, is recuperating after being hospitalized. Although initially stiff, Forkner’s evaluation yielded no significant injuries, and he is set to return for Anaheim 2.
As the championship progresses, these injuries could impact team strategies and overall standings in the highly competitive series.
