FIM World Supercross Championship 2026 Season Suspended
In a significant development, SX Global, the promoters of the FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX), announced the immediate conclusion of the 2026 season, effective today. This decision comes amid ongoing negotiations for potential investors and a clouded future for the series.
The season was initially scheduled to consist of six rounds, but only the first event, held in August, has taken place. With no further competitions on the calendar, the WSX’s trajectory remains uncertain.
SX Global issued a statement expressing regret over the abrupt halt, emphasizing their commitment to the series and its global potential. “We remain optimistic that the ongoing discussions will reach a positive conclusion and provide a strong platform for the future of the championship,” the statement noted.
The organization extended its gratitude to riders, teams, partners, venues, staff, and fans who have supported the championship during this challenging season. Further updates regarding the future of the World Supercross will be released as discussions progress.
