Reisulis Brothers to Lead Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 in 2026
Yamaha Motor Europe has officially announced the 2026 rider lineup for the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 team, confirming that Latvian siblings Karlis and Janis Reisulis will compete aboard the Factory YZ250F in the FIM MX2 World Championship.
Karlis Reisulis, 20, retains his position after a productive first full season in MX2, where he established himself as a consistent points scorer with improved speed and racecraft. His focus for the upcoming season is to enhance his performance, aiming for a top-10 finish and challenging for the top five.
Janis Reisulis, 17, makes a significant leap to the factory team following his impressive tenure in the EMX series, where he secured the EMX250 Championship with 10 race wins and five overall victories. This promotion underscores Yamaha’s commitment to nurturing talent and reflects Janis’s rapid ascent through the ranks, beginning with an EMX125 title in 2023.
Karlis stated, “I’m excited to be staying with the team for another year… My main goal is to be a better version of myself, consistently inside the top 10, and challenging the top five.”
Janis added, “Riding MX2 is a step towards making my dreams come true… My goal is always to win. I never go to a race with a different mindset.”
Thorsten Lentink, Yamaha Motor Europe MX Racing Specialist, expressed confidence in the duo, emphasizing their shared ambition and talent. “Karlis has shown incredible potential since joining the team, and promoting Janis was a natural step after securing both EMX titles. We now have two talented, motivated, and fast riders who will push each other and the entire team forward.”
As the Reisulis brothers gear up for the 2026 season, their synchronized development and competitive spirit position Yamaha for a promising campaign in the MX2 Championship.
