Malcolm Stewart Joins Monster Energy Kawasaki for 2027 Season
Foothill Ranch, California — Monster Energy Kawasaki has officially announced the signing of Malcolm Stewart for the 2027 racing season, alongside 2026 450SX Rookie of the Year, Garrett Marchbanks. This strategic move comes following Stewart’s departure from Rockstar Energy Husqvarna, which ceased operations and left him searching for a new team.
Stewart has a decade of professional racing experience and captured his first 450SX victory in 2025. In 2026, he secured one podium finish and amassed 14 Top 10 placements in the SMX series. His transition back to Kawasaki, where he began his amateur career, aims to reignite a longstanding family legacy—his brother, James Stewart, was a notable Kawasaki rider.
The 2027 season will feature the revamped KX™450F-SR, now equipped with significant performance enhancements. Stewart’s return to Kawasaki could be pivotal as he aims to secure another victory in the premier class.
Marchbanks, fresh off an impressive rookie season, aims to build on his inaugural campaign’s success, having achieved four Top 5 finishes and ranked sixth overall in the SMX World Championship standings.
Kawasaki’s statement emphasized the team’s blend of seasoned expertise and emerging talent as they prepare for the upcoming competition.
Stewart stated, “I’m excited to return to my roots with Kawasaki and look forward to what this season holds.”
As the 2027 season approaches, both riders will be focused on leveraging their strengths and the new KX450F to challenge for higher placements and victories.
