Connor Zilisch Injured in Post-Race Incident Following Victory at The Glen
Watkins Glen, NY – Connor Zilisch, winner of the Xfinity Series Mission 200 on Saturday, was involved in an incident during post-race celebrations, falling from his car and requiring transportation to a local hospital for evaluation. He was treated and released that same evening.
Zilisch confirmed via social media that while CT scans showed no serious issues, he did sustain a broken collarbone. This victory at Watkins Glen marks his sixth win of the season, further solidifying his competitive performance in 2023.
Notably, Zilisch has previously dealt with injuries this season, including a lower back injury sustained at Talladega Superspeedway, which sidelined him at Texas Motor Speedway. Despite his current injury, there is no indication that he will miss any future races, as the Xfinity Series has a scheduled off week. The series is set to resume at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, August 22.
As the season approaches the final three races of the regular schedule, updates regarding Zilisch’s recovery and participation will be shared as they become available.
