Ferrari’s #50 Disqualified After Le Mans Scrutineering
In a significant post-race development following the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, the #50 Ferrari – AF Corse 499P has been disqualified, removing its fourth-place finish from the official results. The disqualification stemmed from a technical infringement related to missing bolts on the rear wing support, leading to a deflection of 52 millimeters—exceeding the homologated maximum of 15 millimeters.
Ferrari’s response indicated that the excessive deflection was solely due to the missing hardware, asserting that no performance advantage was gained from this issue. However, the ruling stands, resulting in the elevation of the #12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA V-Series.R to fourth place overall, while the #7 Toyota now enters the top five.
Notably, both the race-winning #83 AF Corse and the #51 factory 499P cars were confirmed as compliant with regulations. If Ferrari opts not to appeal the decision, or if an appeal fails, drivers Nicklas Nielsen, Antonio Fuoco, and Miguel Molina will lose the 24 points they earned, adjusting their total to 57 points—far behind the #83 crew’s 89 and the #51 team’s 105 points.
This decision also impacts the manufacturers’ standings, potentially decreasing Ferrari’s total from 202 points by 30, while enhancing the scores for Cadillac, Toyota, Alpine, and Peugeot. Aston Martin could also secure its first points as a result of this ruling.
