Barwell Motorsport Prepares for New Lamborghini Temerario GT3
Surrey, UK – Barwell Motorsport, a prominent Lamborghini customer team, is preparing to transition from the Huracán GT3 to the new 2026 Temerario GT3, which is poised to deliver significant advancements in design and performance.
Since its debut in 2016, the Huracán has secured three British GT championship drivers’ titles and five team championships for Barwell. Team Principal Mark Lemmer expressed optimism about the Temerario, emphasizing its improved cockpit ergonomics: “It’s definitely going to be a good car… The cockpit will be laid out in a lot clearer fashion for the drivers,” he noted.
The new model aims to rectify some of the Huracán’s limitations, particularly its performance in dirty air. “The car is being designed so it can follow more closely,” Lemmer explained. Additionally, the modular design will simplify service operations. The new turbocharged engine is expected to weigh less, enhancing overall chassis balance.
Lamborghini anticipates finalizing homologation for the Temerario in late 2025, with FIA approval and first customer kits to follow in early 2026. While Barwell will likely continue using the Huracán throughout the 2026 season, they are expected to receive a Temerario during that season.
Lemmer pointed out the positive feedback from Lamborghini’s development engineers, stating that initial performance metrics are promising: “There are no fundamental issues; reliability is good, and the initial performance is good.”
Barwell’s history includes a landmark victory in the 24 Hours of Barcelona in 2019—Lamborghini’s first outright win in a 24-hour race. As the team looks forward to running the Temerario, it positions itself to remain competitive in the evolving landscape of GT racing.
