Barwell Motorsport Dominates Donington Park Qualifying

In a commanding performance, reigning British GT champions Rob Collard and Hugo Cook secured pole position at Donington Park, leading a 1-2 finish for Barwell Motorsport. The duo clocked a combined lap time of 2:53.582 in the #1 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2, marking their first pole of the season.

The second spot on the grid went to Barwell’s #78 Lamborghini, driven by Alex Martin and Squadra Corse’s Sandy Mitchell, who achieved a time of 2:53.792. Third place was claimed by Orange Racing by JMH’s #67 McLaren GT3 EVO, with Matt Topham and Marcus Clutton finishing at 2:54.060.

The championship-leading #42 2 Seas Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo qualified fourth, thanks to Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss’ time of 2:54.221, followed by Beechdean’s #97 Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO at 2:54.257, driven by Andrew Howard and Tom Wood. Rounding out the top six was Blackthorn’s #7 Aston Martin, with Giacomo Petrobelli and Jonny Adam setting a 2:54.265.

The session was briefly halted due to a red flag prompted by Richard Neary’s #8 Team Abba Mercedes-AMG, which encountered a mechanical issue at Hollywood Corner.

In GT4, the #69 Mahiki Racing Ginetta G56 GT4 EVO, driven by Luke Garlick and Blake Angliss, took pole with a time of 3:07.839. Championship leaders Century Motorsport followed closely with their #71 BMW M4 GT4 EVO in second place at 3:08.684. The #12 Team Parker Racing Mercedes-AMG GT4, driven by Ed McDermott and Seb Morris, qualified third at 3:09.140, recovering from previous testing damage.

The 120-minute race is scheduled to start at 13:15 local time tomorrow, promising an intense finale to the championship chase.
