Bryan Herta Autosport Forms Alliance With PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports for 2026 IMSA Season

Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA) announced a strategic partnership with PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports for the upcoming 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, debuting in the LMP2 category. The team will compete under the name “Bryan Herta Autosport with PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports,” fielding the #52 ORECA 07-Gibson from its new headquarters in Brownsburg, Indiana.

Led by Team Principal Bobby Oergel, PR1 Mathiasen has secured five of the last six IMSA LMP2 championships, including the 2024 title through a previous alliance with Inter Europol Competition. This partnership will leverage PR1’s extensive LMP2 experience alongside BHA’s robust operational capabilities, which include six consecutive IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge TCR manufacturers’ championships.

Bryan Herta, President of BHA, expressed confidence in the collaboration: “PR1/Mathiasen has set the benchmark in LMP2 competition… We believe this program has all the right ingredients to contend at the front.” Echoing this sentiment, Oergel stated, “This partnership is built to compete at the front… We have an aligned, high-performance team structure to contend for wins and a championship.”

As the 2026 season approaches, expectations are high for this newly formed alliance to make a significant impact in the competitive LMP2 landscape.
