2025 ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series: Season Recap and Insights
Champions Crowned
Nick Wüstenhagen and Ranko Mijatovic have claimed the 2025 ADAC Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) championship with a solid performance that included nine consecutive race victories. The duo secured their title with a second-place finish in the season finale, effectively clinching the championship with their BMW M4 GT4 from FK Performance Motorsport—the team’s first NLS title in 13 years.
Finale Highlights
The final race, held at the Nürburgring, saw Falken Motorsports dominate, with driver Dorian Boccolacci clocking a time of 4:01:30.077. The team’s Porsche 911 GT3 Rs finished first and second, showcasing their prowess throughout the season. Nico Menzel, who drove the heavier car, finished second alongside Joel Sturm, marking a significant feat for the team. The Haupt Racing Team continued its upward trend, securing a podium with their Ford Mustang GT3.
Mijatovic commented on his title defense: “You can’t plan something like that… it was a great driver combination.” Notably, he is the first driver since champion Johannes Scheid in 1981 to successfully defend his title after changing cars. Wüstenhagen added, “It’s the first time for me, and what we’ve achieved is slowly becoming reality.”
Team Dynamics and Challenges
Tobias Wahl, initially part of the winning team, faced a setback after a bicycle accident sidelined him starting from NLS7. Reinhold Renger stepped in, allowing the team to maintain its championship momentum. Team manager Martin Kaemena expressed pride in the achievement, referring to it as one of their greatest successes.
Competition Landscape
Adrenalin Motorsport, which has produced champions for the past seven years, faced a more challenging season but still celebrated success with Philipp Leisen and team mates clinching the NLS Production Car Trophy with six class victories in the VT2-RWD category.
Porsche Endurance Trophy
Mühlner Motorsport secured the overall Porsche Endurance Trophy with Tim Scheerbarth and Arne Hoffmeister winning their seventh race of the season. In the Cup 3 class, Joshua Bednarski and Lorenz Stegmann claimed the title.
NLS Junior Trophy and Ladies’ Trophy
In the NLS Junior Trophy, Noah Nagelsdiek emerged victorious by a slim margin despite retiring early. Meanwhile, Janina Schall took the 2026 Ladies’ Trophy, surpassing her father’s achievements in the series.
Looking Ahead
As the season concluded, VLN Managing Director Mike Jäger reflected positively on the year’s highlights and announced preparations for the 50th anniversary of the NLS, set to kick off on March 14, 2026. The forthcoming season will again include the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers, further integrating competitive elements into the championship.
With strong performances and strategic developments, the 2025 season sets a compelling stage for next year’s competition.
