Falken Motorsports Leads 2025 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie with Innovative Sensing Core Technology

Falken Motorsports showcased its dominance in the 2025 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS), securing five victories out of nine races and clinching the top two positions in the NLS Speed Trophy with its Porsche 911 GT3 Rs (992). A highlight of their success this season has been the integration of Sensing Core technology, developed by parent company Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd.

Sensing Core employs the tire itself as a monitoring tool, eliminating the need for additional hardware to track crucial metrics such as tire wear, road surface conditions, wheel load, and pressure in real-time. This technology builds upon Sumitomo’s existing Deflation Warning System, which is implemented in road vehicles worldwide, and adds capabilities to detect loose wheel nuts.

The advantages of Sensing Core were evident throughout the season, with earlier warnings provided to the team compared to traditional sensors, significantly enhancing their strategic decision-making. This initiative underscores Falken’s commitment to sustainability within motorsports and highlights the promising application of advanced sensor technology in a competitive racing environment.
