Ferrari Extends Contract with Nicklas Nielsen for Endurance Racing
Ferrari has confirmed a multi-year contract extension for Nicklas Nielsen, solidifying the Danish driver’s role with the prestigious manufacturer in endurance racing. Nielsen, 28, continues to represent the Prancing Horse as an official driver within the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
This renewal follows similar extensions for fellow Ferrari drivers Antonio Giovinazzi and Alessio Rovera, who secured their contracts in July.
Nielsen has been a prominent figure in the #50 Ferrari 499P alongside teammates Antonio Fuoco and Miguel Molina since joining the top class of the FIA WEC in the 2023 season. He has also participated in various international series with the 296 GT3.
His impressive track record includes 12 wins and 23 podium finishes from 41 FIA WEC starts and remarkable achievements in other series. He clinched the Drivers’ titles in the FIA WEC Endurance Trophy LMGTE Am (2019–20, 2021), as well as victories in the European Le Mans Series (2019) and the GT World Challenge Europe – Endurance Cup (2021). Notably, he achieved an overall win at Le Mans in 2024.
In a statement, Nielsen expressed his pride in being part of Ferrari’s official driver lineup. “I have had the privilege of achieving wins I will never forget, especially the victory at Le Mans in 2024. I look to the future with hopes of continuing to win races and titles together,” he said.
Antonello Coletta, head of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti, praised Nielsen’s evolution as a driver. “Nicklas’s journey has been marked by many successes. His win at Le Mans confirms his maturity as one of Ferrari’s leading drivers. We are proud to continue this journey with him,” Coletta stated.
With this extension, Ferrari reinforces its commitment to a team that combines emerging talent with a track record of success, signaling a strong competitive future in endurance racing.
