Ford Racing Unveils Mustang GT3 EVO Kit for 2026
DEARBORN, MI – Ford Racing has announced the development of an EVO kit for its Mustang GT3 platform, slated for debut in 2026. This initiative is part of Ford’s ongoing commitment to enhance performance and reliability in its racing lineup.
Alex Allmandinger, Ford Racing’s global sports car manager, stated, “Ford Racing is always striving to exceed our customers’ expectations. We are continuing to build upon the success of the Mustang GT3 platform with this EVO package, pushing development and continued improvement for our teams and partners.”
The Mustang GT3 first entered competition in 2024 at the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona. Its inaugural season was marked by reliability challenges, prompting a mid-season ‘erratum’ fix that improved the boot lid and diffuser. In 2025, however, the platform showed significant advancements, highlighted by a victory at the Daytona 24 Hours by the factory team operated by Multimatic in the IMSA GTD Pro class.
Further successes included a solid performance at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, where partner team Haupt Racing finished fourth overall and secured first in the SP9 Pro/Am category. The LMGT3 program, in collaboration with Proton Competition, also demonstrated progress, with the #88 car achieving second place at Spa, surpassing last year’s podium finish at Le Mans.
While the Mustang GT3 has shown competitive promise, adverse events such as fires impacted performances in Bahrain and Qatar towards the end of 2024 and into 2025.
Alongside Multimatic and Proton, teams like Gradient Racing and Dollahite Racing are utilizing the Mustang GT3 in various series, including IMSA and GT World Challenge America.
Ford Racing will release additional details and imagery pertaining to the EVO kit as the 2026 launch approaches.
