Magnus Racing Returns to Competition at Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen

Magnus Racing is set to make its much-anticipated return to the racetrack this weekend at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen, following a hiatus since the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January. This event holds particular significance for Team Owner John Potter, not only as a personal milestone but also as the inaugural outing for their new partner, Virtual Energy.

Potter expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We couldn’t be happier to welcome such a well-embraced partner with Virtual Energy. When we paused the program in January, we knew we wanted to return, but just couldn’t identify when everything would align to make it happen. With our new programme, we feel a new sense of, dare I say, energy to the team.”

The #44 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will feature a revamped black and pink livery to represent Virtual Energy, aiming to inject new vitality into Magnus’s competitive efforts.

The driver lineup includes Potter, veteran endurance racer Spencer Pumpelly, and new recruit Marco Sorensen. Sorensen, an accomplished driver with victories at major endurance races such as Daytona and Le Mans, brings additional expertise as an Aston Martin factory driver. Notably, he joins a legacy of drivers sharing the name Marco within the team, following alumni Marco Seefried and Marco Mapelli.

For Potter, who made his professional racing debut at Watkins Glen, capturing victory remains an elusive goal. With the addition of Pumpelly, a two-time winner at this event, the team hopes to finally secure their first win at this prestigious venue.

As they prepare for this weekend’s race, Magnus Racing aims to leverage their new alliances and driver talent to achieve a breakthrough performance at the Six Hours of the Glen.
