Genesis Magma Racing Unveils Key Appointments Ahead of 2026 Hypercar Launch

Austin, TX — Genesis Magma Racing has announced a trio of strategic additions to its team as it prepares to debut the GMR-001 Hypercar in the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Anouck Abadie has been appointed as Team Manager, Justin Taylor as Chief Engineer, and Gabriele Tarquini as Sporting Director. These appointments aim to bolster the team’s competitive edge in the increasingly competitive Hypercar category.

Team Structure and Goals
The newly formed team will operate under the leadership of Team Principal Cyril Abiteboul and Technical Director François-Xavier Demaison. “Anouck, Justin, and Gabriele are fantastic additions, bringing invaluable motorsport experience that will enhance our existing capabilities as we approach our 2026 entry,” stated Abiteboul.

Both Abadie and Taylor are currently integrated into the IDEC Sport team at Le Mans, working with two LMP2 entries to gain vital hands-on experience for the upcoming Hypercar tests.

  • Anouck Abadie (32): Formerly with Kessel Racing, Abadie has extensive experience in both team management and sporting direction within the FIA.   • Justin Taylor (44): Recently a Race Engineer with Cadillac and Ferrari, Taylor also has a background in IndyCar and chassis design with ORECA.   • Gabriele Tarquini: A veteran of touring car racing and the inaugural WTCR champion, Tarquini has previously served as Team Manager for Hyundai Motorsport’s customer teams. He remarked, “Joining Genesis Magma Racing is a new challenge, and I aim to utilize all my experience to prepare for next season.”

Support Roles and Further Development
Additional appointments include Mia Sharizman as Driver Programme Advisor and Warren Scheckter as Commercial, Marketing, and Communication Manager. This growing team will integrate with existing staff, including personnel from Hyundai Motorsport, as part of Genesis Magma Racing’s ambitious strategy for the future.

The GMR-001 Hypercar is expected to represent a bold step forward for Genesis Magma Racing, marking a significant investment in the future of endurance racing as the team aims to establish itself in both the WEC and potentially North American IMSA competition by 2027.
