Ginetta G61-LT-P3 Evo Secures Historic Victory in Le Mans Cup

The Ginetta G61-LT-P3 Evo has made headlines in the motorsports world by securing its inaugural victory at the Le Mans Cup, thanks to DKR Engineering’s pairing of Antti Rammo and Thomas Laurent. This milestone victory occurred during the second race of the Road to Le Mans series, breaking Ligier’s recent dominance in both the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) and the Le Mans Cup.

Prior to this event, Ligier’s JS P325 had achieved a clean sweep of victories, setting a formidable benchmark that the Ginetta squad has now eclipsed. Rammo and Laurent’s success represents a significant turning point for Ginetta, showcasing the competitive potential of their latest LMP3 model.

"Road to Le Mans was great," remarked Mike Simpson, Ginetta’s Motorsport CEO. "Our Pro/Am car surged from a 25th overall starting position to secure a win, which is something we are incredibly proud of."

Following this victory, interest in the G61-LT-P3 Evo has intensified, with potential teams approaching Ginetta for testing opportunities. Simpson noted, "We have three cars ready to go and are well-positioned to meet the demand as we look towards the 2026 season."

As the European Le Mans Series resumes this weekend in Imola, DKR Engineering will field a G61-LT-P3 Evo in the LMP3 class, aiming to build on the momentum generated from their recent triumph. Simpson indicated that continuous development, including advancements in aerodynamics and speed, has narrowed the gap to competitors.

"We are catching up on years of development," he added. "Reliability has been exceptional, and we believe more teams will be joining our grid next year."

The upcoming races will further test the Ginetta’s capabilities as it seeks to solidify its place in the competitive landscape of LMP3 racing.
