Goodyear Unifies Motorsport Efforts with Launch of Global Racing Division

American tyre manufacturer Goodyear has established a new motorsport division, Global Racing, consolidating its various racing programs under a unified structure. This initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency and bolster its performance across key racing categories, including NASCAR, NHRA, BTCC, and notably, sportscar racing within the FIA World Endurance Championship’s LMGT3 class.

Goodyear has been the exclusive tyre supplier for LMGT3 since its inception at the beginning of the 2024 season, as part of the FIA WEC and European Le Mans Series. The brand introduced the new red-banded Eagle Hard compound during July’s 6 Hours of São Paulo and is currently developing a next-generation LMGT3 tyre, set to debut in 2027.

This year, Goodyear achieved significant milestones, supporting a record 41 entries at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and supplying tyres for 45 cars at the 24h Nürburgring.

Xavier Fraipont has been appointed as vice president of Global Racing, bringing nearly 30 years of experience at Goodyear, including key roles in motorsport projects.

Chris Helsel, senior vice president and chief technical officer at Goodyear, emphasized the company’s longstanding legacy in racing: “With Xavier’s deep expertise and leadership at the helm, we’re advancing our commitment to innovation – enhancing performance and elevating our competitive edge worldwide.”

This restructuring positions Goodyear for continued growth and competitiveness in the evolving motorsports landscape.
