Iron Dames to Compete in 2026 GT2 European Series
The Iron Dames will debut on the GT2 European Series grid in 2026, fielding a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with drivers Sarah Bovy and Laura van den Hengel. Bovy, making her GT2 European Series debut, will start the season with the 992.1-spec model, transitioning to the updated 992.2 Cup later in the year as they target the Pro/Am class.
Bovy, a Belgium native with experience in SRO regulations through multiple GT World Challenge Europe appearances, expressed enthusiasm about her partnership with van den Hengel. “Together we carry some incredibly important values… you can count on us to fight with the strong spirit of the Iron Dames,” said Bovy.
Van den Hengel, a Bronze-rated driver, steps up from her 2025 season, where she secured the Pro/Am drivers’ title in the GT Cup Open Europe alongside Paul Meijer. “Racing alongside Sarah, with all her experience, is a huge opportunity for me to learn and grow,” she stated.
This entry marks a strategic shift for the Iron Dames program, emphasizing support for individual drivers. The 2026 GT2 European Series kicks off at Monza from May 29 to 31, 2026.
Note: This announcement confirms the eligibility of Porsche Cup machinery in the GT2 European Series.
