Lionspeed GP Enters Nürburgring 24 Hours with Competitive Lineup
Lionspeed GP is set to compete in the SP9 Pro class at the 2026 ADAC 24H Nürburgring, scheduled for May 14-17. The team will field the #24 Porsche 911 GT3 R (992.2), driven by a trio of notable Porsche drivers.
The lineup includes seasoned racers Laurens Vanthoor and Ricardo Feller, both of whom are past winners of the event, having claimed victory in 2015 and 2024 respectively. They will be joined by Laurin Heinrich, who is making his second appearance at the prestigious race following his debut in 2023.
Of the three drivers, only Feller has prior experience with Lionspeed, having raced with them in the GT World Challenge Europe season last year. Both Vanthoor and Heinrich were slated to debut with the team during the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie season opener, which was unfortunately canceled due to adverse weather conditions.
Lionspeed GP has a complex history in the Nürburgring 24 Hours; they last participated in the SP9 Pro class in 2023 in collaboration with Car Collection Motorsport. In 2024, the team became independent and clinched the SP9 Pro-Am class title, though they were absent from the race in 2025.
As the team gears up for the prestigious event, their experience and recent performances suggest they will be strong contenders in this year’s race.
