Cole Loftsgard Dominates at Sebring International Raceway in Ford Mustang Challenge

Sebring, FL – Cole Loftsgard of Round 3 Racing has delivered a remarkable performance in the opening round of the 2026 Ford Mustang Challenge at Sebring International Raceway, completing a clean sweep with a commanding victory in both races.

Loftsgard secured pole position during qualifying and went on to win Race 1 uncontested, maintaining his lead throughout the 45-minute event. The second race posed a greater challenge; starting from third, Loftsgard initially found himself battling fiercely with Michael Tosi (#77) and Devin Anderson (#22) as they jostled for early dominance.

After battling for position, Loftsgard regained ground, moving to second place with 20 minutes remaining. He executed a strategic pass on Tosi, taking the lead in a decisive maneuver through Turns 16 and 17. Ultimately, Loftsgard crossed the finish line with a two-second advantage over Tosi, who secured P2—an impressive result for the series rookie. Anderson rounded out the podium in third.

“The team worked incredibly hard, and the car was flawless,” Loftsgard stated post-race. “It was all about strategy and keeping my cool during the battles.”

In the Dark Horse Legends class, Alex Bachoura showcased a strong performance by finishing first while managing older qualifying tires, achieving a sixth overall position in his #33 Spark Performance machine. Chris Clarke in the #9 Paley Motorsport car placed second in Race 2, improving on his Race 1 standing, while Tom Tait secured third in the #8 Wheelhouse Motorsport entry.

Notably, Lou Gigliotti was the sole retiree, while Bruce Griffin did not compete following an incident during practice that rendered his vehicle unfit for the races.

The next round of the Ford Mustang Challenge is set for May 1-3 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where competitors will look to challenge Loftsgard’s early season dominance.
