FIA World Endurance Championship Pre-Season Prologue Rescheduled to Imola
The FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) has officially rescheduled its pre-season Prologue to April 14, 2026, at Imola, Italy, following significant changes in the season’s calendar due to geopolitical issues. Originally set to take place in Qatar, the Prologue and the rescheduled 1812KM race at Lusail International Circuit have been postponed amid ongoing conflicts in the region.
As a result, the 6 Hours of Imola will now serve as the season opener, with teams granted two extensive test sessions on the 14th. The morning session will last three and a half hours, followed by a four and a half-hour afternoon session.
Subsequent on-track activities include Free Practice 1 and 2 on April 17, with qualifying slated for April 18 and the race itself occurring on April 19. This strategic shift underscores the WEC’s adaptability in addressing global circumstances while maintaining a robust racing schedule.
