Rast Secures Milestone 30th DTM Victory at Nürburgring

René Rast delivered a commanding performance in Sunday’s second DTM race at the Nürburgring, clinching his 30th career victory in the series. Driving the Schubert Motorsport BMW M4 GT3 Evo, Rast finished approximately eight seconds ahead of teammate Marco Wittmann, who completed a one-two finish for BMW.

"I did not expect such a dominant race," Rast stated, reflecting on his performance. "The 30th win of my career in the DTM means the world to me."

Rast’s triumph marked his fourth victory at the Nürburgring. He quickly ascended to third place after starting the race, overtaking pole-sitter Ben Dörr of McLaren and Lucas Auer. By lap six, Rast had assumed the lead and maintained it through strategic pit stops, rejoining the race ahead of Auer.

Lucas Auer ultimately secured third place in his Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf AMG GT3 Evo, regaining the championship lead from Jack Aitken, who finished 16th after race incidents. Auer commented, “The two BMWs were on a different level… you can tell the second half of the season is underway.”

In the race’s final standings, Maro Engel finished fourth, followed by Ayhancan Güven in fifth place. Gilles Magnus achieved a notable seventh, while pole-sitter Dörr rounded out the top eight.
