Revolution Race Cars Launches the HyperSport: A New Era in Motorsports

Revolution Race Cars has introduced the HyperSport, a groundbreaking lightweight track car poised to redefine the racing landscape. Set for customer availability this summer, the HyperSport complements Revolution’s existing 500 Evo model and targets both competitive racers and serious track-day enthusiasts.

Weighing under 700 kg and powered by a 430 bhp turbocharged two-litre engine, the HyperSport meets FIA testing standards and features an innovative IndyCar-style aero screen. The car is competitively priced at under £120,000, positioning it as an accessible option in performance racing.

Managing Director Nigel Redwood emphasizes the car’s unique offering, stating, “The Revolution HyperSport represents a fundamental change in how we think about race cars at this level. Until now, drivers faced a choice between outdated technology and high-end prototypes that are complex and costly. This car negates that compromise.”

The HyperSport is designed as both a formidable track machine and a versatile racing platform, with plans for Revolution-promoted classes in European and North American prototype series ahead of the 2027 season. The first customer race packages will debut at the final round of the Equipe Sports Prototypes series in Portimão, scheduled for October 30 to November 1, 2026.

Phil Abbott, the company’s founder and technical director, commented on the innovative approach behind the HyperSport, noting, “We are excited to create something brand new based on nearly 30 years of experience. HyperSport incorporates insights from our prototype endeavors and draws on lessons from IndyCar and GT racing.”

As Revolution Race Cars nears its tenth anniversary, the HyperSport aims to blend the thrill of GT and prototype racing while enhancing safety standards for a broader market. The launch underscores a commitment to elevating performance while making advanced racing technology more accessible.
