Sainteloc Racing Dominates Opening Day of 24 Hours of Spa Prologue Test
Sainteloc Racing set the pace on the first day of the 24 Hours of Spa Prologue Test, with its Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo IIs topping both morning and afternoon sessions.
Morning Session Highlights
In the opening three-hour session, the #25 Sainteloc Racing Audi, driven by Paul Evrard, Gilles Magnus, and Benjamin Ricci, clocked a best time of 2:16.223. The fastest lap was recorded just after the session resumed following a Red Flag incident.
Garage 59 showcased strong performance, with the #58 McLaren GT3 Evo driven by Dean MacDonald finishing second, just 0.006 seconds behind the Audi. They also placed third with the #188 car driven by Thomas Fleming, while the #59 Pro entry completed the most laps overall.
Harry King secured fourth in the #33 Verstappen.Com Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 Evo, followed by Philip Ellis in the Gold Cup-leading #57 Winward Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. The fastest Pro entry was the #98 Rowe Racing BMW M4 GT3 Evo, placed sixth, with the #21 Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin and the #4 Crowdstrike by SPS Mercedes-AMG leading the Silver and Pro-Am categories, respectively.
The #911 Pure Rxcing Porsche 911 GT3.R suffered an early session setback, rejoining only for a brief shakedown.
Afternoon Session Highlights
The afternoon session saw Wyatt Brichachek clock a fastest lap of 2:16.331 in the Silver Cup-entered #26 Sainteloc Racing Audi. Fabian Schiller followed closely in the #17 Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed entry with a 2:16.435. The session experienced a red flag at the start of the final hour, leading to increased lap times before being halted due to another Red Flag.
Mikey Porter, driving the #5 Optimum Motorsport McLaren GT3 Evo, finished third overall and was the fastest in the Gold Cup. Julian Hanses’ #27 QMMF by Sainteloc Racing Audi led the Bronze Cup, while Lucas Auer in the #48 Mercedes-AMG Team MANN-FILTER entry placed fifth. The top ten was rounded out by various Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evos.
With a total of 73 laps completed, the #611 Nordique Racing AMG GT3 Evo led the field in lap counts, edging out the #81 Winward Racing entry. Steller Motorsport’s #424 Corvette Z06 GT3.R finished sixth in the Bronze Cup.
Overall, 70 of the 76 entered teams participated, despite a series of incidents, including stoppages for the #8 Kessel Racing Ferrari and the #19 GRT – Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini.
Looking Ahead
The Prologue Test continues tomorrow, offering an additional eight hours of track time in preparation for the 24 Hours of Spa scheduled for June 25-29.
