GT4 European Series Season Opener at Circuit Paul Ricard
The 2026 GT4 European Series kicked off this weekend at Circuit Paul Ricard, France, featuring two thrilling races that showcased debuting teams.
Race 1 Highlights
In the season opener, SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm secured victory, with drivers Enrico Förderer and Cedric Fuchs dominating in their #111 Mercedes-AMG. Starting from the front row, Förderer quickly overtook NM Racing’s Lluc Ibañez at the start. After establishing a substantial lead, Fuchs maintained the advantage through a flawless pit stop, culminating in their commanding win.
Rookie team Speedy Motorsport claimed a noteworthy second place after drivers Mees Houben and Lachlan Evennett executed a successful strategy, with Evennett overtaking for the position late in the race. Ibañez and co-driver Papadopulos secured third, while defending champions Benjamin Lariche and Robert Consani, hindered by engine issues in qualifying, managed to fight back from 20th to finish 10th.

Race 2 Summary
The second race saw CRT-Sport’s Lucas Cartelle and Hudson Schwartz emerge victorious in their debut with the GR Supra. A late safety car allowed Cartelle to close the gap on the leading #12 Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport BMW, piloted by Thomas Rackl. Despite Rackl having a substantial lead, the safety car reshuffled the order, enabling Cartelle to overtake in the waning laps.
Cartelle and Schwartz’s late surge not only earned them the win but also established CRT-Sport’s entry as a strong contender. Pedro Garcia finished second in the Aston Martin, with Ibañez following closely in third for NM Racing.
In Pro-Am, W&S Motorsport faced a chaotic end, securing victory after a multi-car incident during the closing laps. Their win came as race leader Alon Gabbay’s Porsche was penalized, allowing teammates Daniel Drexel and Chris Salkeld to capitalize.
