Scott Taylor Motorsport Returns for 2027 Bathurst 12 Hour with Ambitious Goals
Scott Taylor Motorsport has officially confirmed its entry into the 2027 Bathurst 12 Hour, marking the second consecutive year for the team at this prestigious endurance race. The team will once again campaign a Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO in the Pro class, maintaining its all-Australian driver lineup, composed of Supercars stars Chaz Mostert, Cameron Waters, and Thomas Randle.
The squad secured pole position in the previous race with Waters behind the wheel, but a dramatic retirement marred their performance after Mostert was involved in an incident with another competitor in the final hour. For the 2027 event, the team aims to capitalize on their past performance with a rigorous multi-day, multi-venue testing program.
While the driving roster remains intact, the team plans to introduce new commercial partners, details of which will be revealed later. Team owner Scott Taylor emphasized the significance of the Bathurst event in the Australian motorsports calendar, stating, “It’s one of our biggest events… All the internationals come down to the best racing circuit in the world for our once around the clock enduro.”
Taylor expressed confidence in the team’s capabilities, stating, “We should have won last year… In 2027, we’re definitely returning to give it a nudge.” Barry Ryan will oversee operations, ensuring continuity in the team’s competitive efforts.
Event director Shane Rudzis welcomed the team’s commitment, noting the importance of passionate teams for the growth of the Bathurst 12 Hour. “Having teams that are so passionate about the event is incredibly important to its growth and success,” he remarked.
The 2027 Bathurst 12 Hour, which serves as the opening round of the 2027 Intercontinental GT Challenge season, is scheduled for 12-14 February 2027.
