British GT Pre-Qualifying: Müller Leads at Oulton Park
In a competitive pre-qualifying session for the British GT Championship at Oulton Park, Porsche driver Sven Müller clocked the fastest lap time of 1:32.769 in the #66 Porsche 911 GT3.R, setting a strong benchmark for the field.
Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s Sandy Mitchell closely followed, achieving a 1:33.044 in the #78 Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2. Third place went to Sam Neary, who drove the #8 Team Abba Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo to a time of 1:33.144. Maximilian Götz of 2 Seas Motorsport secured fourth with a time of 1:33.186 in the #18 AMG GT3 Evo.
Further down the leaderboard, Hugo Cook rounded out the top five in the #1 Barwell Lamborghini at 1:33.317. Beechdean Motorsport’s Tom Wood and Callum Macleod in the #97 Aston Martin (1:33.521) and #3 Optimum Motorsport McLaren GT3 EVO (1:33.533), respectively, followed closely behind. Marcus Clutton in the #67 McLaren and Oliver Webb in the #24 McLaren claimed the eighth and ninth positions, with times of 1:33.537 and 1:33.635. Marvin Kirchhöfer wrapped up the top ten in the #77 Optimum McLaren at 1:33.723.
In the GT4 category, Mahiki Racing’s Aiden Neate led with a time of 1:41.684 in the #84 Lotus Emira GT4. Luca Hopkinson in the #17 Optimum Motorsport McLaren Artura GT4 and Charlie Robertson in the #71 Century Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 Evo finished second and third with lap times of 1:41.791 and 1:41.838, respectively. Jack Mitchell’s #69 Mahiki Lotus and reigning GT4 champion Jack Brown in the #90 Optimum McLaren rounded out the top five with times of 1:41.879 and 1:42.057.
Qualifying is scheduled to commence at 15:52, with amateur driver lap times determining the grid for Race 1 and professional driver laps set to shape the grid for Race 2.
