TF Sport Dominates at Imola in ELMS Double Victory
In a thrilling finish at the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) race in Imola, TF Sport secured a remarkable double victory, showcasing their resurgence in 2025. The #99 AO by TF ORECA clinched the LMP2 Pro/Am class, while the #82 Corvette triumphed in the LMGT3 category, signaling a significant turnaround for Tom Ferrier’s team amid a challenging spring season.
The race featured multiple incidents and penalties, but TF Sport managed to navigate the chaos successfully. Prior to this win, the team had recently achieved a P2 finish in the Pro/Am category at Le Mans and a podium with their #81 Corvette in LMGT3.
American driver PJ Hyett, co-owner of AO Racing, expressed his surprise at his recent wins: “It was an absolute pleasure to be out there. We’ve had plenty of bad luck in the past, but that makes the success feel sweeter. I definitely prefer winning races now!”
Hyett’s success alongside drivers Dane Cameron and Louis Deletraz now places them at the top of the championship standings, leading by four points as they head into the latter half of the season.
In the LMGT3 category, the #82 Corvette, driven by Charlie Eastwood, Hiroshi Koizumi, and Rui Andrade, delivered a historic performance. Starting from eighth on the grid, the win marks Corvette’s first in the ELMS, a notable achievement after a transition from Aston Martin to Corvette. Eastwood reflected on the significance of this victory: “It’s my first win with Corvette, and it’s a big step for TF as well."
The triumph in Imola also yielded 25 valuable points, propelling the #82 team into title contention while the Iron Dames Porsche fell from first to fourth in the standings after a disappointing ninth-place finish.
With the next round of the FIA WEC season set to take place in São Paulo, Ferrier emphasized the team’s ongoing momentum: “We’re doing well in all the championship fights now. It’s still a little early, but I feel we can kick on now with some circuits we have done well at in the past coming up.”
TF Sport’s impressive performances in both ELMS and WEC underscore their commitment to excellence and strategic growth as the season progresses.
