Lamborghini Squadra Corse Set to Unveil 2026 Temerario GT3 Amid Spa 24 Hours Triumph

This week, Lamborghini Squadra Corse celebrates a significant milestone with the unveiling of the new 2026 Temerario GT3 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, following its historic victory at the Spa 24 Hours. This triumph marks a pivotal moment for the iconic Italian manufacturer, as the Huracán GT3 departs after a decade of success.

The Huracán GT3, which debuted in 2015, boasts a remarkable record of 197 victories and 96 championships. Its evolution included strategic investments and key upgrades, shaping it into a formidable competitor in GT3 racing. The vehicle first caught attention when Grasser Racing clinched a win at its debut at Monza, culminating with its recent success at Spa, where the same team secured an acclaimed victory.

Factory driver Mirko Bortolotti, who has been instrumental in the car’s development since its inception, described the Spa win as both emotional and physically demanding. “The hard work paid off. It was a tough race, but we were brave on strategy,” Bortolotti stated, emphasizing the significance of the victory not just for him but for the entire brand and team. “Winning at Spa was a dream come true after ten attempts.” His performance, particularly during the grueling final stint, left him exhausted but ultimately victorious.

Despite his immediate recovery efforts necessitated by the demanding conditions, Bortolotti returned to competitive action less than a week later at the DTM meeting in Norisring, demonstrating both his resilience and commitment to the sport.

The Huracán will continue to compete globally even as Lamborghini transitions to the new Temerario GT3. Bortolotti reflected on the legacy of the Huracán, noting its initial weaknesses that were systematically addressed to meet the demands of both professional and amateur drivers, enhancing its overall performance across varied race formats.

Looking ahead, Bortolotti expressed his excitement about the upcoming Temerario, stressing the importance of focusing on performance and reliability for its inaugural race. “What will make me most proud is to see the car perform well,” he concluded.

Lamborghini’s journey in the GT3 arena has been marked by significant achievements and technological advancements. The transition to the Temerario GT3 symbolizes a new chapter for the brand, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in motorsport.
