IMSA Unveils Provisional Entry List for VP Racing SportsCar Challenge at Daytona
DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) has released the provisional entry list for the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, scheduled for January 17-18 at Daytona International Speedway, coinciding with the Roar Before The 24 test days.
A competitive 20-car grid will feature three new-generation Ligier JS P325 prototypes alongside six incumbent LMP3 entries. The field will also include 11 contemporary GT4 cars in the GSX class.
The new JS P325s will race alongside the previously eligible Ligier JS P320s and Duqueine D08s, all cleared for competition through 2026. Toney Driver Development will field two of the P325s; veteran Nathan Toney’s team will have rookie Lincoln Day in the #95 car for the full season and Brady Golan, a Michelin Pilot Challenge race winner, in the #30 for Daytona.
The third new Ligier will be operated by Shopify Racing powered by TWOth, with driver announcement expected later this week.
Forte Racing maintains its presence in IMSA with two V8-powered JS P320s. Bronze drivers Brian Thienes and Jonathan Hirshberg will pilot the entries at Daytona.
Reigning champions Gebhardt Motorsport will enter three Duqueines, including the #1 car driven by Óscar Tunjo, who claimed two race wins last season. Danny Soufi and Jérémy Siffert will also race for the team, fulfilling a commitment to nurture emerging talent within their Young Driver Academy.
The GTDX class will not participate at Daytona, leaving the GSX class as the primary focus. Notably, Westin Workman, the 2025 Toyota GR Cup North America Champion, will make his GT4 debut in the #8 Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 with RAFA Racing Team/Ave Motorsports.
“I’m super excited to join the RAFA Racing Team this year,” said Workman. “This opportunity to race a Mark V Supra is really special.”
Additional GT4 entries include returning driver Justin Di Benedetto in the #4 Di Benedetto Racing Porsche and newcomers such as Ismaeel Ellahi and Dan Ammann, contributing to a diverse field.
The first race will commence on January 17 at 2:00 PM ET, followed by Race 2 on January 18 at 1:20 PM ET. Both races will be streamed live on the IMSA Official YouTube channel.
