Toyota and Subaru Readied for 2026 ADAC 24H Nürburgring
Nürburgring, Germany — As the ADAC Ravenol 24H Nürburgring approaches on May 16-17, both Toyota and Subaru are intensifying their competitive edge within the SP9 (GT3) class.
Toyota Gazoo ROOKIE Racing (TG-RR) has confirmed the return of its GR Yaris, with Chairman Akio “Morizo” Toyoda sharing driving duties with notable drivers Hiroaki Ishiura, Kazuya Oshima, and Daisuke Toyoda. Last year, this team secured 52nd place overall, completing 113 laps.
In parallel, the team will pilot the liquid hydrogen-fuelled GR Corolla H2 Concept in the Eneos Super Taikyu Series, showcasing its commitment to innovation alongside its racing efforts.
Toyota’s strategy further includes entries like the GR Yaris M Concept, handled by GR Team ORC Field, and the GR Yaris DAT Racing Concept, run by GR Team SPIRIT.
On the Subaru front, the automaker unveiled its N24 program at the Tokyo Auto Salon, featuring an enhanced WRX NBR Challenge car that aims to build on last year’s performance, where it finished 76th, completing 94 laps.
Takuto Iguchi returns to lead Subaru’s lineup alongside Carlo Van Dam, Kota Sasaki, and Rintaro Kubo. Subaru promises improvements in horsepower, aerodynamics, and anti-lock braking systems, targeting not just victory in the SP4T class but also challenging top competitors in the SP8T class.
With meticulous preparations underway, both teams aim to leverage technical advancements and driver experience to make a significant impact at this year’s endurance race.
