West Surrey Racing to Launch GT Programme at Dubai 24 Hour

West Surrey Racing (WSR), the 18-time British Touring Car Champions, has confirmed plans to debut a new GT programme at the upcoming Dubai 24 Hour race in January. The team will enter a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup car in the 992 class of the 24H Series Middle East Trophy.

This initiative is in collaboration with CCK Motorsport, managed by the family of current WSR BTCC driver Charles Rainford. The announcement follows WSR’s intentions to expand into GT racing, initially revealed in August.

“Carl Mitchell, WSR’s Sporting and Operations Director, emphasized the importance of this entry: “Going to the Dubai 24 Hour with a Porsche Cup car is an ideal way to give the team invaluable experience of running a sportscar under real racing conditions—something you can’t simulate in testing. We aim to confirm our entry by the end of the month and anticipate a strong driver line-up moving forwards.”

The team is looking to finalize a four-driver roster and is currently inviting interested parties to reach out via Carl@wsr-racing.com for further details.
