Wiebelhaus Steps Up to DTM with HRT Ford Racing
Berlin, Germany — Reigning ADAC GT Masters Drivers’ Champion Finn Wiebelhaus will join HRT Ford Racing in the DTM for the 2026 season, competing alongside factory driver Arjun Maini in a two-car effort. The 19-year-old, who was a standout in the ADAC GT Masters, topped the ‘Road to DTM’ competition last season and becomes the first eligible candidate for the DTM’s Rookie of the Year award.
Wiebelhaus will pilot the newly developed Ford Mustang GT3 Evo, contributing to HRT’s second campaign in the DTM following a learning season in 2025. “Racing in the DTM has been my dream since childhood… This feels like a reward for years of hard work and sacrifice,” Wiebelhaus expressed.
Maini, who has been with Haupt Racing Team in the DTM since 2022, hopes to build on last season’s momentum after securing multiple top-five finishes despite a challenging year adapting to the Mustang GT3. “Our goal is to rack up victories and podium finishes this year,” Maini stated.
The pair will sport distinct liveries; Wiebelhaus will carry sponsorship from Kolibri360 and feature ‘Snaffi the Snail’ on his vehicle, whereas Maini will continue with his blue and yellow Ravenol branding.
Fabio Scherer has departed from the DTM roster to make way for Wiebelhaus and is reportedly in discussions regarding future opportunities with Ford and HRT.
The 2026 DTM season is set to commence from April 24-26 at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.
