Härtling Dominates SRO GT Academy, Set for Endurance Cup Debut
24-Year-Old Jay Mo Härtling clinches the 2026 SRO GT Academy title, securing a spot in the 2027 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with the GetSpeed Mercedes-AMG GT3 team. Härtling’s impressive performance throughout the GT2 European Series included victories in five of ten events, ultimately finishing 82 points ahead of runner-up Ethan Gialdini from Team CMR.
The SRO GT Academy evaluates drivers on a broader range of metrics beyond race results, including qualifying times and average lap speeds, while penalizing for incidents. This diverse scoring system highlights Härtling’s consistency and skill, particularly in navigating the pressures of a competitive environment.
Reflecting on his season, Härtling stated, “The GT2 European Series season was a real roller coaster… Winning the SRO GT Academy is a huge step forward for me and SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm.” This achievement underscores his commitment and growth as a driver.
GetSpeed team principal Adam Osieka praised Härtling’s accomplishments, remarking, “Jay Mo has earned this opportunity… The SRO GT Academy is a great initiative to develop young talent.”
Härtling is one of six winners from this year’s expanded program, alongside drivers Jarrod Waberski and Ryan Yardley, who will participate in the 2027 24 Hours of Spa in a Team Motopark Mercedes-AMG. Léo Jousset has also secured €150,000 for a potential drive in the 2027 European series.
SRO Motorsports Group CEO Stéphane Ratel emphasized the importance of nurturing emerging talent: “Promotion of young drivers… is crucial, as it helps those not necessarily able to fund their way in GT3.”
This development marks a significant moment for both Härtling and the SRO GT Academy, further solidifying its role in shaping the future of motorsport.
