BMW M Motorsport Confirms Three-Car Lineup for 2026 FIA GT World Cup at Macau
BMW M Motorsport has announced a robust three-car effort for the upcoming FIA GT World Cup at Macau, marking the return of Kelvin van der Linde to the iconic street circuit for the first time since 2019. Van der Linde will join two-time winner Raffaele Marciello, both racing for Team WRT, which expands from its previous single-car entry.
“I’m really looking forward to Macau, having raced there seven years ago,” van der Linde stated. “I have great memories of it. Competing with BMW M Motorsport, I hope we can continue the podium streak.”
Marciello transitions from Rowe Racing to Team WRT in pursuit of his inaugural Macau title with BMW. Despite winning the 2024 Qualifying Race, Marciello finished a lap down in the main event and was runner-up last year to AF Corse’s Antonio Fuoco.
Augusto Farfus, the 2018 champion, will represent Team KRC after missing last year’s event, though he finished as runner-up in their last partnership in 2024.
Andreas Roos, head of BMW M Motorsport, expressed enthusiasm for the expanded lineup: “We are very pleased to compete with three BMW M4 GT3 EVOs on the legendary streets of Macau. The atmosphere during the GT3 season finale is exceptional. With Raffaele and Augusto, we have seasoned drivers. Kelvin’s return adds a competitive edge.”
Roos also emphasized the team’s determination, stating, “After missing out on victory in recent years, we are more determined than ever to reach the top step of the podium.”
The FIA GT World Cup remains a standout event in the GT racing calendar, showcasing the prowess of elite teams and drivers on a challenging circuit.
